Can you make a car key if I lost all of my keys?
Yes. Losing every key is one of our most common calls. We can originate a new key from scratch by decoding the lock or working from your key code, then program it to your vehicle's immobilizer on site. You don't need the original key and you don't need a tow to the dealer.
What is immobilizer programming and why does my car need it?
Most cars built since the late 1990s have an immobilizer: a security system that only lets the engine run when it recognizes the electronic chip in an authorized key. A new key can be cut perfectly and still won't start the car until it's programmed into the immobilizer. Advanced immobilizer work, such as all-keys-lost on newer vehicles, security-light or key-not-detected problems, and replaced modules, is our specialty.

What do I need to have ready?
Your vehicle's year, make and model, your location, and a photo ID. For key replacement we also verify ownership with the title or registration (the VIN on the dash or door jamb helps too). Verifying ownership protects you; a reputable locksmith will never make keys for a car without it.
